Here’s a simple, soft, delicious No-Oven Stovetop Bread recipe — perfect when you want fresh bread without turning on the oven. It comes out tender, puffy, and great for sandwiches or dipping.

🍞 No-Oven Stovetop Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional, for softer bread)

  • 2 tbsp oil or melted butter

  • ¾ cup warm water (add slowly; you may need slightly more/less)

🥣 Instructions

1. Combine dry ingredients

In a bowl, whisk:

  • flour

  • baking powder

  • salt

  • sugar (if using)

2. Add wet ingredients

  • Add oil and warm water gradually.

  • Mix until a soft dough forms.

  • Knead 3–4 minutes until smooth.

3. Rest the dough

  • Cover and let rest 15–20 minutes.
(This relaxes the gluten and keeps the bread soft.)

4. Shape

  • Divide dough into 4–6 balls.

  • Roll each ball into a circle about ¼–½ inch thick.

5. Cook on stovetop

  1. Heat a large skillet or nonstick pan over medium heat.

  2. Place a dough circle into the dry pan.

  3. Cook 1–2 minutes, until bubbles form and the bottom has golden spots.

  4. Flip and cook another 1–2 minutes.

  5. Flip again if needed until cooked through.

Repeat with remaining dough.

6. Serve

Enjoy warm with:

  • butter

  • garlic butter

  • olive oil & herbs

  • soups or stews

  • for sandwiches or wraps

⭐ Tips & Variations

Make it fluffier:

Add ¼ cup yogurt or 2 tbsp milk powder to the dough.

Herb bread:

Mix dried oregano, thyme, or rosemary into the dough.
