Biscuits from the Heart (Homemade Biscuits)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup cold butter (cubed)
  • ¾ cup milk (cold)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a fork or fingers until the mixture looks crumbly.
  4. Stir in milk just until a soft dough forms (don’t overmix).
  5. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat to about ¾-inch thick.
  6. Cut biscuits (or use a heart-shaped cutter for the theme).
  7. Place biscuits on a baking sheet, sides touching for softer biscuits.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden on top.
  9. Brush tops with melted butter if desired.

Serve With

  • Butter & honey
  • Jam or jelly
  • Sausage gravy
  • Or just warm and plain 🥰
