🍏 Apple Fritter Bites Recipe

Ingredients

For the fritter bites

  • 2 medium apples, peeled & diced (Honeycrisp, Gala, or Granny Smith)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • ¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 1 large egg

  • ⅓ cup milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1 tbsp melted butter

  • Oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or peanut oil)

For the glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1–2 tbsp milk

  • ½ tsp vanilla

🥣 Instructions

1. Prepare the batter

  1. In a bowl, combine: flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

  2. In another bowl, whisk together: egg, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.

  3. Add wet to dry and stir just until combined.

  4. Fold in diced apples. Batter will be thick — that’s perfect.

2. Fry the bites

  1. Heat 2–3 inches of oil in a pot to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Drop small spoonfuls of batter (about 1 tbsp each) into the oil.

  3. Fry 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.

  4. Remove and drain on paper towels.

3. Coat or glaze

You have two options:

Glaze (classic)

Dip warm fritter bites in glaze or drizzle it over the top.

Cinnamon sugar (super easy)

Toss bites in a mix of:

  • ½ cup sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

⭐ Tips for the Best Apple Fritter Bites

  • Don’t crowd the pot — fry in batches.
